This is the best beauty tip that I can give you-WASH YOUR FACE!!!!
The average person touches their face 3-5 times per minute. This is after we have touch our cell phones, dirty surfaces, money, computer keyboards, other people, and everything else. With that being said, you can just imagine how much bacteria dwells on our faces.
It is this bacteria, which causes breakouts, and the breakouts which cause scar and blemishes. I have just as many old acne scars the next, if not more. Even as an adult, I still get the occasional pimple. Many use make up to cover these things. However, if we begin with caring our faces properly, most need would be eliminated.
You should wash your face every morning and night. It should be clean before you apply makeup. Makeup should be washed off before bed. The first step to any beauty regimen is a clean face.
You should clean your face with a gentle cleanser. Regular bar soaps, body washes, shampoos ect are too harsh for the face and my cause irritation or breakouts. Use something specially formulated for the face. Currently I am using Ponds, but I tend to bounce around between products alot. You should find a product you like and stick with it.
Dry your face with a clean dry towel. You should dedicate it only to your face, as bacteria tends to thrive on towels. Wash and dry it often.
After cleansing your next step should be applying a gentle toner. This step removes any dirt or excess oil not taken care of by your cleanser. Make sure that it does not dry the face out too much though. Apply your toner with a Cotton ball, or cosmetic round. I don't recommend toilet paper because it could be harboring bacteria.
If you have any acne medication you should use it next. However, I never recommend buying acne medication over the counter unless you are used to using the active ingredient in it. The best thing to do is to consult a dermatologist who can prescribe you a medication if need be. Because there are a number of factors that come into play when determining the right acne medication, it is best to leave it up to a professional.
Lastly, apply a moisturizer with a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher. Trust me your face will thank you for it. This helps to protect your skin from the sun and related skin cancers, moisturizes you face, and stops blemishes and scars from darkening. I personally like Ambi, but there are many good ones outs there.
If you follow this regimen, not only will breakouts and bad skin be at bay, but you will be working with a fresh, clean pallet for any makeup you are applying. Our make up should enhance our skin, not hide it!!!!!
